Here it is Pink Saturday once again. Today my pink offering is my fruit bowl in our kitchen.
I've had this bowl for more than ten years. I don't remember exactly how long, but I do remember where and when I first saw it. I saw it at a consignment shop a few miles from where I live. I had been wanting a pink fruit bowl for a long time, but had not found one that was large enough. The day I saw this bowl, it was love at first sight. Until I saw the price tag. I can't remember how much it was marked, or how much I paid, but whatever, it was worth it.
The funny thing is that I was so bothered by the price when I first saw it that I left it in the store and came home. Being the nut case that I am, I didn't sleep well thinking about this bowl. I had to work the next day, so I asked my mother to go in there and buy the bowl. And, we've lived happily ever after since our union.
This bowl stays on our kitchen counter all the time, and you will always find it filled with fruit. Some of the fruits might vary, but there will always be bananas and limes. At our house we live by the adage of "a banana a day keeps the doctor away", and I always must have my limes. I love limes.
Today we have other lovers of pink joining us for Pink Saturday. Last week was the first week I had people joining me for Pink Saturday, and we had two participants. This week we have thirteen participants. Wow!!! Please link over to visit, leave a comment and make a new blogging friend. We'll be here again every Saturday so please feel free to participate. Happy 'pink Saturday' dear Beverly. I'm mighty glad you like my pink apples and strawberry. You didn't mention my strawberry! I can't say I have heard of an apple called 'pink lady.' I have heard of a drink with that name.
Your pink bowl is perfect for pink little old you. I should say young you. Smile! You are younger then me. Isn't it just like you to walk away from something you want and then go back and buy it. That is ok, I love you just the way you are.
Love always, SJV

Beverly that is a nice bowl! I have had those moments of dwelling over something I want to buy. Once you give into it all is well! :) :) Are those limes for your Pepsi?

I have issues w/ bowls. I really like them. When I first started "collecting" (think early marriage/graduate school time) we were into primitives so I had a lot of old crock bowls in browns and tans and such. And I can't get rid of them even though they don't go w/ anything. I just love bowls. Love yours too. I can relate to the fruit too. Kids love it. Although I don't think I ever bought a lime unless I making something specific that called for it. Key Lime Pie and some tropical drinks!!! Thanks Beverly!

Hi Beverly,
Pink Saturday is a great idea. I enjoyed looking at everyones pink posts. The blog sights are so different. Everyone is so creative. Although, I think that you and mom are the most creative. I might be a little biased though.
Have a good day!

Beverly, I love your pink bowl and the whole idea of your Pink Saturday! I'm one of those you mentioned above - I really don't think I have anything pink, except maybe for some clothes. And I really like the color! What a terrible example of girly-ness I am, huh? lol
I'm going to start looking for something pink so I can play next time too... or else go shopping!! ;)

Bev,
Pink Saturday is a great idea! I too love pink as well as other colors. As my weekly schedule is very busy, so I cannot guarantee to join in every saturday but let me see if I can make an arrangement for next Pink Saturday. I've an interesting idea:) I'll accordingly inform you about my link.
Made visits for participants' pages, ohh...so cool! What a BIG pink world that we live in:) Until today I thought we live in a blue world, LOL:)

I just about always have pink, I'll try to join in next week.
I know what you mean about the price tag. Sometimes its easy to be put off by one, but then if it is something you really really want, it is usually worth it! I used to make the mistake of not getting exactly the right thing because it was a little too much, then buying a substitute, and it not being right, so I'd buy something else, over and over and endedup spending more that way!

Beverly, thanks for hosting Pink Saturday. I responded to your June 4th post regarding my participation. But you had a lot of comments that day, so it could have easy been missed. Thank you very much for updating your blog to include my name. That was very sweet of you. (I am just starting my blog... boy, is it addicting!) :) xoxo, Joanna

I have lately become enamored of all things both vintage and French. Along with this comes...pink! So I'm on the look out. I don't think I have any pink things! But I do have lots of red, and I'm thinking the contrast will just have to work. It's the feeling a hue evokes in me that causes me to cherish it. When I find something, I too shall share! Love your bowl!
