The sweet girls at Ask Kari & Kijsa have asked us to show our mantels today. I can hardly wait to see all of the beautifully decorated mantels.
This is a picture of our mantel that I tried to take last night. It is not a good picture at all - I just couldn't get the lighting right. The oil lamp on the left belonged to my great grandmother, and the clock on the right belonged to my husband's great-grandfather.
And, here is the winner.
That's Penny at Lavender Hill Studio.
Penny please e-mail me your address, and I will get The Prophet in the mail to you.

Wondering what Pink Saturday is? Please refer to the feature in my right sidebar near the top of my blog.

I think your mantle pictures are very nice. I think you should have included your book case built ins. They are so beautiful. After making some correction on my post, The words are misplaced. I can't seem to fix them. Someday I might know how to use a computer!
I hope your day is a good one. Love ya, SJV

Beverly! Lovely Mantle! I've been trying to decorate my mantle since I moved to my home (about 1 year ago) and it's still bare... I even asked for some help to Mary (Across the Pond). Yours look so pretty! Hugs! Vanessa

Beverly, your mantel is very pretty! That is a wonderful old clock. The painting is so sweet, and how lucky you are to have your great grandma's oil lamp! Love it all!

LOVE your mantel -- so pretty! How wonderful to have your great grandmother's oil lamp. I have a clock very similar to yours, but nowhere to display it at the moment. Hmmm.....I feel the need to rearrange coming on...

Hi Beverly! So sorry I'm not in on the Pink Saturdays. I'm still out of town with daughter and her family. Little Andrew is getting cuter by the day. I'm going to miss the little ones when I have to go home to Raleigh. I'll try to join in with a little pink when I get home.
Hugs,
Deborah

Congrats to dear Penny!!! Woo woo! Did I miss this drawing with all of my business??? Boohoo if I did. It looks like it was fun!
I don't have a mantel because I don't have a fireplace. California is kind of hit and miss in this area. My parents still live in the home I grew up in. They have a fireplace with a mantel. Someday...
Your 2 mantel motifs are very lovely. I will need to check out Kari and Kijsa' site. They are so much fun, aren't they?
By the way, you have nailed—in your right sidebar—most of the music I have enjoyed during the years! We definitely share much of the same taste!

Oh dear, I missed their mantle post. Yours is very, very nice. I have an old oil lamp too from my father's side of the family and the special holder that my father made for it. :) Lynn

Love the fact that you have the oil lamp and the clock on your mantle. I imagine that you sit and look at those peices and think of how both of your grandparents had them in their homes... Very, very nice. So meaningful.. Kayce

I never had a fireplace and have always wanted one. Santa has always had to come in through the front door!
Your mantel is very pretty! How wonderful to have your great grandfather's clock!
Judy Collins is wonderful, isn't she? I love that album too!
