This picture was taken in our dining room. And, for the life of me, I can't get a good picture of this. Oh well, I'm sharing anyway. This is an antique oak server, and the mirror hanging over it has an oak leaf design. The candy dish on the left, and the vase on the right were gifts my parents received when they were married. The pitcher and glasses belonged to my grandmother, and the bowl and pitcher you see reflected in the mirror belonged to my great-grandmother.

You have such beautfiul things!!! You are lucky to have so many family treasures that have been saved for all of these years.
take care,
Dawn

Good Morning!
Your oak serving piece looks lovely---so beautifully adorned with all of your treasures! My MIL had a candy dish like the one you have on the left.
It's still very cold here in MO (2 degrees!!!) and I have to go do my shopping in a bit!
Just wanted to check on your post today and wish you happy Christmas preparations! Dana

Good morning Beverly, Your photo looks great to me. I love your family treasures. I admit the door knob cover is a little funny looking. The sentiment is sweet though. A happy day wish to you my dear friend.

I know what you mean about dining room pictures! Maybe it's the light from other rooms or the reflection off the glass--I don't know, but I've been frustrated with my attempts too. Anyway, I'm glad you shared those treasures from three special ladies in your life.
Come, Beverly, share HOW you keep that doorknob cover so clean?

I just wrote a comment and hit a wrong key and deleted it...that's what I get for sitting in a comfy chair with the laptop....on my lap!
I love your server and how you've displayed these beautiful keepsakes.
I bought several pieces of A Christmas Story, including the school at Sears when they were on sale a couple of weeks ago. Ralphie's house was not on sale and it was out of stock. I bought the house on e-bay last week and expect it any day. The cost for the house on e-bay, buy it now, was the same as at Sears, plus tax, so it worked out okay. I was told Sears has the exclusive for A Christmas Story. It is Dept 56, so these can also be found at that website. It's fun collection to put together.
Merry Christmas!

Treasures everyone, Beverly! I'm wondering if you have an entire room dedicated to storing your Christmas decor.

Hi Beverly :)
I've tried to comment on you blog for two days, but it wouldn't take. It's probably my stupid computer... ugh.
Anyway....
I love all your sweet treasures and that doorknob cozy is precious :)
I'm going to be away from blogging for a little while, which you know, but I wanted to come and personally thank you for being so sweet to me. I count you as one of those people that I am very lucky to have met and that have made blogging so much fun.
Have a Merry Christmas with your family!
love,
rue

I just love seeing all the beautiful things you display. At 8 years of homemaking, I consider myself a beginner still, but someday I hope to have so many well-loved pieces around my home!

Today it is around zero degrees here. I was extremely uncomfortable this morning walking from the train to the office. Very cold, cold, cold.. To be honest w/ you, I couldn't feel my toes or face. I wanted to write something poetic or sugary but the fact is it dampened my mood:( Now a full mug of hot coffee at my hand this lunch time, I am feeling a little better reading a few of my favorite pages. Like yours:) So warming up viewing those treasures at your house, lovely, cozy, joyful. The house (like a museum) I love so much on blogosphere is yours:) And, local news is to say that we're expected to receive snow. Oh my... wish it could be, missed playing snowballs.
