Dona nobis pacem (Latin: Give us peace) is a phrase in the Agnus Dei section of the Roman Catholic mass. It was set as a separate, final movement in Bach's Mass in B Minor. I realize this is not the most impressive interpretation of this, but it is the one that had the most lasting impression on me. I am not much of a television watcher, but M*A*S*H was my favorite show. The first time I saw this episode, I wept. I wept at the thought of the many courageous men and women that have left their homes and families to protect our country. And, God to give us peace.

Beverly, I really loved your Sunday morning song today. It was a nice surprise from your normal lovely music. I loved that show and watch re-runs from time to time. I am feeling the stress from my surgery closing in on me. Sigh. Bill will call your mom and she can call you. Have a happy Sunday.
Love you my dearest friend...SJV

Beverly... that was wonderful. It brought tears to my eyes (again). My girls were growing up in the 1970's & 80's... I couldn't tell you who was popular in movies, tv or on the radio... my one guilty pleasure was my weekly visit with the cast of "Mash"... I never missed an episode. This, was one of my favorites. Thank you this Sunday morning, for the lovely memory and the blessing.

I'm not a great pop culture person, but I was thinking about the great desert areas on our planet and the people who live there! Our church group that went to Egypt to minister to the people there are home. So many living in deserts and God knows them all!

Hi Beverly :)
That was beautiful. I watched MASH once in a while when I was a kid, but Rich really loves that show.
Oh and my favorite color is black for clothes and yellow for houses :)
Thank you for all your sweet words of encouragement while I've been in the middle of this move. I needed them ;)
hugs and love,

Beverly, I didn't get a chance to listen to this one this morning, so I wanted to come back and here it this afternoon. I loved this version of "Mash" so much!
If you can believe it, we actually sang this in PUBLIC SCHOOL MUSIC in junior high school in the singing group at your school. We often did sacred selections in those days. And to think you can't even utter God's name in schoool these days without fear of practically being suspended.
Thanks for sharing this. It was beautiful, and it brought back happy memories for me.
XO,
Sheila :-)

Come back and "HEAR" it this afternoon. Yikes! It's been a day of typos!

Beverly,
MASH has always been a part of our TV watching. My husband and I are still fans watching all the reruns so much that we both say the lines before the actors do. We Love it. Nice to know you do too!

Beverly,
That was one of our favorite shows too! Of course we loved the comedy....they could really make you laugh.....but the importance of that show was that each episode really sent a message and touched your soul. There must be laughter within our sorrows...they have to go hand in hand to keep you strong and moving forward.
