Iris are certainly beautiful. I'm always sad when they are through blooming.

I think irises are one of the most beautifully created flowers. Their blooms are so elaborate.

Is it the way that the sun shines through or seems to be coming out of the bloom? Is it the way on single flower stands out in color from among so many others similar yet so different from itself? Or could it be the way the stems and leaves seem to be rays pushing the life of the flower out into the world.
I love catching pictures like this unaware. Pictures that speak to us. Your blog always touches me on some wonderful level. I am glad for days spent with you. Have a very blessed May Day.
Jesus is with us!

P.S. Maybe it is because she is sticking her tongue out at the world! hahahaha

P.P.S. That should read..."ONE single flower" It is early. If there are more typos, please decipher and/or ignore. :)

Irises have the most wonderful, subtle scent, too. I can almost smell this one, the picture is so lovely.

Good morning Beverly, You iris photo is outstanding. You caught it just right. I now have three blooms and more to come. I am so thrilled that my iris is blooming. So far pale lavender and dark purple. Have a happy day my dear friend.
Love you bunches back...Jeanne

I love the way the sun is shining through the flower making it look almost transparent. The yellow of the flower with the yellow of the sun combine to make such a happy sight! Lovely photo!

That is one pretty picture, lady! I am a big fan of Iris too.
I posted some photos of mine on Monday at Refining Life. If you get a chance to visit, let me know what you think.
Have a great day! Chris

Transluscent. It looks like chiffon.
The new telephoto is the the Canon 70/200 L series. It was recommended by my friend Maureen. I posted her linguine recipe for foodie friday recently. She is an amazing photographer. The photos I took for the Cinco de Mayo post, were with the Canon 50mm lens. That's the other new one. I decided I wasn't getting any younger and just went ahead and bought two new lenses at the same time!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Irises are my favorite flower! Especially blue irises. They are so majestic and regal. Your picture is beautiful as is the photo of the irises on the previous post. My irises have not bloomed yet.

It is beautiful! My husband decided that our dating flower should be the purple irises. And I agree with him. ;-)
