This charming lady is Maude. I realize it may sound strange, but she reminds me of my grandmother. Ergo, her name is Maude. Maude came to live with me more than fifteen years ago.
There once was a wonderful antique store here, which was owned and managed by sisters. They had the most gracious store where you always felt comfortable and welcome. One of their specialties was vintage linens and apparel. And, they featured wonderful custom bears made by a very talented lady from this area.
Maude is made from a beautiful cashmere coat which featured a wonderful fur collar. And, she is topped with a chic fur hat. She is wearing a lovely vintage brooch. She looks so stylish and lovely, and so did her namesake.
I have a large finished closet in our master bedroom, and Maude has her very own place in there. The closet has a wonderful bench with a seat cushion, and that is where I dress. Maude begins and ends my day with a smile and sweet memories.
How precious! Love Maude's hat and collar! Reminds me of my grandmother too. She wore a mink to church and let me pet it sometimes. Great memories!

I used to make bears for a living and was very glad I didn't have to live on what I made doing it, but I love Teddy Bears and will have to take you on a trip of my bears one day. I have many from other people who made bears and still love them. Your bear is very classy!

I've always been partial to the name "Maude"---my accordion (yes, I said accordion!) teacher's name was Maude! She hated it and went by the name "Helen". Your Maude is a beauty with terrific taste in clothing and the sweetest little nose!! She doesn't play the accordion by any chance, does she? :) L, Dana

I love Maude and her story. I have a lovely mink coat that was my Momma and I have tried to find someone to make it into a bear. I wish I could find "just that right creator". You are so fortunate to have such a doll baby to warm your heart & your home...tks for sharing her with us....
