Happy Pink Saturday!
Did you take me up on this challenge?
****************************
My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday is this sweet doll. She is one of the dolls I had when I was a child. I received her from Santa Claus one Christmas in the late 1950s. She is in her original outfit, and I think she is so pretty. You can't really tell, but her hair is in a ponytail - also original.
This week we have one hundred sixty-seven (167) participants in Pink Saturday. There are seven new participants, and you will find them at the bottom of the list. Let's all take time to welcome them to Pink Saturday. The participants are listed in the order in which they began participating.
Please take the time to visit other participants, and leave a comment to let them know you stopped by to enjoy their pink. Pink Saturday is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet others in the blogging community. I promise you it is worth the effort because you will not only see lots of pink, you will meet incredibly nice and talented people. Please refer to my post dated January 8 for more information about Pink Saturday.
Remember
that my reminder e-mail stated I needed your plan for participating
today no later than 8 a.m. EST Friday. If you don't see your name and link here it is because
I
did not receive your plan for participating by that time.
I want to thank those of you that take the time to leave me a comment. I love reading what you all have to say.

Beverly--She's a beauty and looks as if she was well taken care of--I'm afraid I would have taken that pony tail out and brushed, and braided, and rolled, and teased until she was bald :) Have a great weekend and thanks for hosting!

Beverly,
What a sweet doll. She gets extra points on "special dolly" for originally belonging to you, and second, for her minty condition. Something tells me you were organized and neat even as a child?!
Thanks again for hosting!

Posted by: Gabriela | August 29, 2009 at 07:03 AM
Hi Beverly,
What an adorable dollie she is! I had saved all mine too, had them bathed, dressed and put away in my mother's trunk. Then one day my little sister who is ten years younger than me, decided she wanted to play with them and that was the end of them; she wrecked every one! I wasn't very happy with her for a very long time! I'm glad you still have yours.
Blessings,
Sandi

Bev..you brought back such good memories for me thinking of the dolls that Santa brought me as a child. Thank you for sharing that bit of sweetness with us.

You are lucky to have so many items from your childhood! This little doll is so sweet. . . love her pink gingham dress beneath the pinafore.
I didn't do so well with the puzzle, but I have to admit I didn't do it until late and my brain was fried from visiting so many rooster sites! :) I'll try later when I have time.
Happy Pink Saturday......hope you have a great day.
I didn't see any Duke emblems on the Turvis site, but they can personalize! :)

I so love your doll. She is mint for sure. Love the little dress with the thin airy apron over the top. Her little face and hair just look brand new. You took very good care of her. We only received (1) toy a year and that was at Christmas, so I too took very good care of my dolls. What was this one called? Please stop by and say hi. I so love it when you do. I have looked forward to Saturdays, I get a break away from the weekly stress and can create. Thanks again for sharing. Country hugs and love, Sherry

I had a doll who's face looked just like your dolls. I think her hair was different. Hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder where she went? Love your idea about visiting one new place & linking it. FUN!
Also, I loved your weather pixie & went to get mine for my BLOG. It can make others jealous... ie those up north in the winter may wish they were someplace warmer & those of us in the south in the summer can covet those much cooler. CUTE!

She is so pretty! I had a doll that looked almost like her but her dress was blue & white stripes. I think the dolls in the 50's had prettier faces than the dolls do now.
I linked a new blog this week - but cheated a little by linking my daughter's blog.
Happy Pink Saturday!
