Here is some of what is going on with me:
- My job has been crazy busy, but what's new?! We are integrating our program to the different entities comprising our system. Sounds totally exciting, doesn't it? Ha! We've been working on the project for close to two years, and I anticipate it will take approximately two more years. Hopefully, that means job security.
- I try to complete several projects at home each year. Last year I didn't feel like I accomplished anything much - just some small projects here and there. This year has been a bit more productive. We did the remodel of my office/studio. We are currently at the very beginning stages of having our deck torn down and rebuilt larger and better. Right now I am looking out my window at a trench that was dug by the power company yesterday. It has something to do with moving lines because of the new deck. The new chandelier is hanging in our dining room, and I am waiting on an estimate to have wainscoting added beneath the chair rail. I've got my fingers crossed that these projects will be completed by Thanksgiving.
- I'm still trying to get everything set up on this new computer. I am at a point where I need some help from my son, and I'm hoping we can make some progress this week. I keep telling myself that slow and steady wins the race. With some luck, I will have pictures again soon.
- My mother is still going to physical therapy. She has an exercise regimen three times a day, and she is diligent about completing the exercises. They have told her that she will not be able to drive again, and that one has been a toughie. She finally decided to sell her car, and that happened this past weekend.
- I'm looking for a pretty chocolate brown tablecloth for my dining room table to use for Thanksgiving dinner. I've seen several on-line, but I want to check out Home Goods before I order. And, any excuse for a trip to Home Goods works for me.
I hope your Tuesday is a good one.
Please be certain to come back tomorrow for
What's My Question Wednesday
I love What's My Question Wednesday. It is so interesting to read each of your perspectives on my question of the week. I hope you will begin to come by and take the time to answer my question.
You will enjoy reading the other responses, too.
I'll be looking for you.

Good morning Beverly. I love catching up with everything since I have been gone for a week. I hope all the therapy is helping your mom. I know she hated giving up her car. She is always in my prayers.
I too hope your improvement projects are finished for the holidays. Notice I didn't say Thanksgiving. I'm giving you a little more time, just in case!!! I will be happy when you can show photos again too.
Good luck with your work project. I am sure you will be working as long as you want. You are their best asset.
Have a wonderful day.
Love you my dear friend...Jeanne

Beverly, you have too many irons in the fire. You need to take a break, and stop to smell the roses. I am tired to just hearing all you are involved in. Take care and rest.

Hi Beverly,
I'm with you, any excuse to go to Home Goods works for me. Except Home Goods is right next door to why I buy my coffee every morning! Not a good thing. If I go really early, it's not open. That's my only hope. lol
Have a great Tuesday.

Mornin' Beverly. You sound very busy. I've once again said 'yes' to too many things and am scrambling to get everything done. I'm teaching Tai Chi at several senior citizen facilities and am moderating discussions about health care reform and its impact on seniors as well. I also teach low-cost cooking to a group of young women through a community outreach program sponsored by my church. Then there is the blog which I swear is as much work as a child :-). I hope you are having a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary

You are a busy girl!
I've still never been to a Home Goods - though I hear about it all the time. I guess they don't like Connecticut.

Hi Beverly
Nice to catch up with you! Since I have been home from our long vacation I've been trying to change my house, wardrobes and garden from summer to fall/winter.
I'm going to have lots of company at Christmas so that is already on my mind..lol.. my grandson will be here and we'll be celebrating his first birthday!
I'm glad your Mom is doing well with PT. I know it must be upsetting to her that she is not able to drive anymore, though.,,that is always a big adjustment in life, but I'm sure with your help she'll be OK.
I am really enjoying the PBS Ken Burns documentaries! Now I want to visit Yosemite! :-) Yellowstone was so amazing ... I hope to go back again someday.
Hugs, Pat

Beverly, I've been without my laptop computer for weeks, and I'm out of town and having to borrow a friend's today. Just wanted to come by and say, "Hi."
What am I doing? I have been busy going to some events... a dinner with girlfriends, a banquet, a board meeting, an antique club luncheon, and a play. I was supposed to go to a sorority function, but I didn't make it because I felt a little bad.
Sending love your way...
XO,
Sheila :-)

Hi Beverly,
Sounds like lots going on at your house. We've been entertaining guests (actually family from PA) the past two weeks. It's been fun. I'm totally enjoying this fall weather and doing lots of outside projects.
Enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Donna

Best Wishes with your work and home projects and to your mom for her continued recovery.
I've been busy with juggling work as a RN case manager for medically fragile patients and their families, our two sons, the pets, the hubby, the house, and today, Mountains of Laundry.
Thanks so much for asking and also for sharing.

Good morning sweetheart! It certainly sounds like you have a lot going on there, but just think how wonderful it will be when it all finally comes together! I'm happy to hear that your dear mum is doing well with her PT, sad news though about the driving. I can't wait to see your deck remodel, if it's anything like the office make over, it's going to be fabulous! Have a really happy day my sweet friend!

Looks like you are making your house into the studio and the rest of your house into the home of your dreams and ideal for you. Sorry to hear that your Mom won't be able to drive again but I know you will all be around to help her out there. Happy Belated Pink Saturday.

Hi, Beverly,
It sounds like you have some great remodeling jobs going on there. I am sure it will all look wonderful when you are finished. Be sure and show us pictures of the completed projects. Thank you so much for stopping by Bunny Cottage. Have a great rest of the week. Blessings to you. Vicki

You are busy, Beverly, but it sounds like the good kind of busy! :o) We can all relate to busy, I think... It always feels busy at our house. I'm working on new handmade creations for my shop, gearing up for, what I hope, will be good Christmas holiday shopping sales. Hubby doesn't have to work overtime again for quite a while--to that means weekends together--yes! We have home projects planned too--the window frames in the dining room and living room could do with a fresh coat of paint. I would love to start a new quilt this fall/winter...We'll see! Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))

Bev, thanks for sharing what's happening in your life. That's interesting how sometimes we feel so productive and then the next time, we just sort of sizzle along...Work always keeps that extra structure....
It's so good that you got you office organized. That's a huge project and now you know where everything is...It's so much fun to have our own little nooks where we can play, retreat, compute, think and listen to music.
Have a good weekend.
