Happy Pink Saturday!
This week we have one hundred sixty-eight (168) participants in Pink Saturday. There are twelve new participants, and you will find them at the bottom of the list. Let's all take time to welcome them to Pink Saturday. All participants are listed in the order in which they began participating.
Please take the time to visit other participants, and leave a comment to let them know you stopped by to enjoy their pink. Pink Saturday is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet others in the blogging community. I promise you it is worth the effort because you will not only see lots of pink, you will meet incredibly nice and talented people. Please refer to my post dated January 8 for more information about Pink Saturday.
Remember that my reminder e-mail stated I needed your plan for participating today no later than 8 a.m. EST Friday. If you don't see your name and link here it is because I did not receive your plan for participating by that time.
I want to thank those of you that take the time to leave me a comment. I love reading what you all have to say.
Reminder - We have a weekly challenge for you to visit the blog of at least one participant that you have never visited before. Then next Saturday include that blog and a link in your post. Quite a few of you have been done this challenge, and have met some of the great Pink Saturday participants. Thank you for sharing with us.
****************************
Today we are having a very special Pink Saturday. I received the following e-mail from Kelee at The Katillac Shack:
Yes, I will be participating with a VERY special Pink Saturday post. I will be showing a room created with Frankie--a cancer survivor--and also doing a fundraiser for another woman who has breast & bone cancer --and may lose her home for her little kids-- because she is in treatment. For every comment at my blog and YOURS on Pink Saturday my Design Gives Back Foundation will donate $l.00 to Colette's home fund. If you could let folks know about what we can all do together that day I would appreciate it! So, the total comments from your blog and mine for Pink Saturday will earn a donation from my foundation to help this needy family. So, if we get 100 comments--a donation of $100 will be made in Beverly's Pink Saturday Blog Party name--to Colette Gauthier Home Fund. Let me know if this sounds good to you!Love and Gratitude!Kelee Katillac
My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday is to ask that everyone reading this post and each of the 168 participants we have today leave me a comment, and then go straight over to The Katillac Shack and leave another comment. Just look at how much we can help Colette by the simple act of leaving two comments.
Please do this for me. Please do it for Colette. And, please do it for yourself and everyone you know and love. Unfortunately, we all know someone impacted by cancer. In fact, we have many participants who are at this moment fighting cancer, and happily we have many cancer survivors.
Let's all band together and show the power of pink. Pink Saturday has wonderful and caring participants and visitors. And, many thanks to Kelee for doing this for Colette and for everyone.
*********************************
The time for leaving a comment has been extended through Sunday, January 31. The goal is 400 comments. Thank you for helping.

Thank you both for doing the donations. I don't get exactly how it works. Do we report back to you the comments we recieve to be tallied in? Or is it just on your two blogs. Anyway, I am so glad the www is full of wonderful people like you, and the many warm people I've run accross in my Pink Saurday meanderings. It's as if my rose colored glasses get cleaned and polished of the grime that collects on them throughout the week!

What a great post and wonderful idea - I'm off to visit right now! Such a great cause (and as I'm waiting for the biopsy results from my little eye op - lump removed from the inner eyelid) I can really empathise.

WOW! Beverly you and Kelee are wonderful to be doing this for Colette. I just added this info to the top of my Pink Saturday post too. I just want to sit here and comment over and over if it counts towards helping Colette. Thanks for being so caring and for hosting Pink Saturday. Now I'm off to visit my friend Kelee.
Posted by: Betty Jo | January 30, 2010 at 06:30 AM
Beverly and Kelee,
How wonderful that the both of you decided to do this. I am a cancer survivor and have just recently had a breat biopsy that came back with a negative result and being a nurse, I know the importance of supporting those with cancer! I am heading over to Katillac Shack now. And everyone, please do not put off your yearly mammo's! That is how my suspicious area was picked up and I was lucky that it was benign but if it was not, we would have caught it early and that is the key to survival!!!!!

Am not sure if my comment will count towards a dollar for Colette here, as I am not in today's Pink Saturday (which looks awesome!!!). I got a little confused to where I was supposed to leave the comments. I don't have a facebook, so I couldn't leave a comment there. When I got to the Kattilac Shack I was still confused but I left a comment there. I don't know if I am the only one confused, but I will also go onto Kelee's blog and leave one there.

Hi Beverly,
Happy Pink Saturday! What a great idea! Having lost my father to prostate cancer a best friend of 28 years to breast cancer, the word sends shivers through my body and mind. It's a horrible disease that should have been conquered years ago. My prayers are with the Colette and her children and for the people who make the financial decisions to keep this family in their home. I am going heading over to leave a comment on The Katillac Shack, and, then I will be adding this great cause to my original Saturday Pink Post. Blessings to you for using our pinkness to help!

Hello Ms. Beverly,
Thank you so much for all you do. I appreciate your kind heart and happily leave my comment today. My mother and step father died 7 weeks apart both of rare cancers so this disease is very difficult for me to face when I hear about others having it. It brings up painful memories that I guess I have not fully dealt with so I tend to not respond at all until now. Perhaps I have just taken a step in the direction of releasing that negative emotion.
Blessings to you sweet lady.

Dear Beverly,
I thank you for doing this for Colette..I can wear the black ribbon, for I am a malignant stage 4,level13 melanoma survivor of 17 years now.The doctors at M.D.Anderson did a clinical trial with me and it worked. They tell me I am a miracle woman and to consider each day a gift..and I do. At this time,I have all the markers in my blood for multiple myeloma. Bone marrows have been done and will be done every 6 months to catch it at it's onset if and when it should appear,so I will also take the burgandy ribbon..I will wear these ribbons proudly, for all the survivors and those who fought such a good fight. Thank you Beverly, for helping a woman to fight harder and longer. My love and prayers are with her, and may God soften the hearts of those who would take her home.

What a wonderful program and lovely place for women to gather. I read Kelee's blog and was very inspired by Frankie's story and would love to help Colette. Wonderful to see so many women who feel the same way and have taken time to show their support. Thanks for your donation to such a worthy cause!

I'm glad the Dee-vine Ms. Bo-vine gave you a big ole smile! :) Thanks! This is really fun. I've started by going to those who commented on my blog and then, I'm coming back here to pick up on more. So many inspiring people and ideas, from one thing to another. Thank you for hosting this. I'm going to the other blog you mentioned, but it's at the top and I can't remember the name. Thanks again. I never thought I had one person to count on and the Lord has shown me so many of his precious jewels in the past few weeks. How does thank you cover your friendships, your help, your hearts?
