Thank you to Sally at Smiling Sally for hosting Blue Monday.
I love bluebirds.
But, I have never seen one like this.
I saw it in a magazine recently,
and I think it is gorgeous.
Do you have this type of bluebird where you live?

No, Beverly, I have never seen such a beautiful blue in any bird around here, but I've seen several of these on Blue Monday posts. Thick brained that I am, though, I cannot remember the name! Happy Blue Monday.

Good morning Beverly, your bluebird is a Western bluebird. Out West is where we saw these last summer and looked them up. Remember Bill's bluebird pics. This bluebird looks just like those. Beautiful. You know I love birds, especially bluebirds.
I have 1000 things to do today and the rest of the week. My mind is seriously going 90 miles per hour! HA! Motivated??? You bet. I love company. The best motivator for me ever.
Love you bunches, Jeanne

I think that beautiful bird is an Indigo Bunting. Don't have those in my area - would love to see one in person!
Wishing you a very blessed week,
Kathy

Beverly, once years ago, I was with my mother going to visit my grandparents in another state, and there was some sort of bluebird migration going on. We were out in the country, and suddenly, a large number of bluebirds in that vivid blue were flying across the road in front of us. It was SPECTACULAR! I will never forget it. And so, when I think of bluebirds, I think of birds that are colored in a vivid blue. I have never before or since seen anything quite like that sight. I'm glad I was with Mama when I saw it because she loved birds, too!
We sometimes have wild parrots fly around our house in St. Augustine. That's always a fun thing! They are a vivid green.
Happy Blue Monday!
XO,
Sheila:-)

Jeanne is right..it is a Western Bluebird. I love blue birds too. We didn't have any at our old house, but we have them here. We put up a blue bird house, but wrens took it over. We are going to get a couple of more in hopes that the bluebirds will nest in one of them.
Hugs,
Penny

You've chosen a perfect blue to share with the folks at Blue Monday. It is really lovely Beverly. You asked about oeleck. Yo should be able to find it with Asian condiments at the grocery store. If you can't find oeleck there should be other chili-garlic sauces you can use. It is quite hot so taste as you go along. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

We have them, but they do not look this one. Such a bright blue. You do well even with a different color day.

Happy Blue Monday!

Beautiful bluebird! Even though my area is a coastal flyway we don't see that many types of birds besides sparrows, starlings, cardinals, mourning doves and pigeons.
