Good morning Beverly, we have our own fireworks. My nephew Randy buys all kinds of great stuff and since our front yard is about an acre it is very safe. We pull out the folding chairs and watch the fun in our own yard. The fire works in town are awesome too. We can see them on our mountain 16 miles from where the action is going on. Twentyfive plus years ago we were visiting Franklin on the 4th of July. We drove into town to see the fireworks and it took us two hours to get out of the traffic jam. I rest my case. Franklin is a tourist town. In the summer the population increases by 50,000. people. Mostly summer residents. Franklin has a population of about 3,800 people. We LOVE living here.
Happy day to you my dearest friend.
Love you
Jeanne
We adults did not do the hula hoop thing. You could say we tried but no one wanted to compete with the kids. HA! We are not saying we were too old, just wiser!!!

We go to a parade (have for YEARS). . . this will be the first for the gr. boy! After that, we head over to a park for an afternoon of eating and games and photos and fireworks (by the kids and the kids at heart). THEN, if we have any energy left, we'll go to a display nearby that night. However, we can see (sorta) displays to the East of us from our house....so we just might watch those! It's supposed to be a wonderful weather day for the fun!
Thanks for your help. . . . L, dana

It has been so hot, I'm not sure. We are bailing on activities this year and opting for quiet and rest. We are OLD. LOL! But we can see the fireworks from our house. So probably! ;-)

Sheila

We are having our own fireworks in our little neighborhood. Should be fun...

Yes, we hope so---last year's display was viewed peeping out from under the marquee of a little strip mall, for the rain was coming down. And we were wearing Jackets!! Weird weather for the Fourth.
We're very close to a local park, so we walk over after supper with our lawn chairs, water bottles, and a big bag of deep red cherries---that's been our tradition for all twenty of the FOURTHS we've lived up here.

No. We stick close to home, as our dogs get very upset by all the noise from our neighbors' fireworks. So we stay home to try to calm them down.
If we left them home alone, who knows what we'd find when we arrived back home...they just get SO terrified by the noise.

That was a cool video--I enjoyed the people's reaction as much as the fireworks and music. Now I can stay home....ha! I probably won't go anywhere unless I get my cold to get better!!! It has been hanging on a month (I actually think I got one and then another one! )

Even if I don't have specific plans to "do" something for the 4th, I can pretty much guarantee that I will be sitting on my car in some part of town that has a clear view of the display downtown....and I will be listening to 1812 Overture on the radio! I LOVE FIREWORKS, without them, the 4th feels like a big ole bust!

We have very strict fireworks laws in our state because of all of our trees and the fire hazard so that limits what we can do on our own - but we have a fantastic fireworks display in our little town. Yes, we probably will go, but I think this year it will just be my sweetheart and I. Our son and his family just signed papers on the new home they've had built - they will be moving in. My daughter and her family most likely won't join us this year because of other plans. My dear little mother has gone with us over the past several years but she is slowing down and doesn't stay out late enough to see them anymore. On the other hand, she could surprise us and go along!

We didn't make any plans yet, but I'm sure we'll see some!

Absolutely! havn't decided where we are going yet though. Our community has a 4th of July celebration a week before the actual holiday, so we got the party started and saw some fireworks last weekend already! :)

Just our neighborhood kids' fireworks. Don't want to fight the traffic.
