Happy Pink Saturday !
This week one of our participants, Valrie would like to inspire you and enlist your help in her project of baking and mailing cookies to our troops. Valrie's son is currently stationed in Afghanistan. Here is the information I received from Valrie. Please go visit her - and hopefully help to send our troops some love from home.
Cans For Cookies US Troops is having a bake-off with PINK SATURDAY bloggers and followers! We are in need of volunteers to bake and ship cookies or peanut brittle for the US TROOPS in AFGHANISTAN, IRAQ and other foreign or domestic posts! If you or your organization would like to help support our US TROOPS, please visit CANS FOR COOKIES US TROOPS, (http://cansforcookiesustroops.blogspot.com or email cansforcookiesustroops@yahoo.com for information. Any troops are eligible to receive these care packages of homemade goodies.
Please visit all three blogs for your chance to enter the giveaways and become a follower, post a link, and leave a comment for 3 extra chances to be entered on each blog giveaway!
Cans For Cookies for US Troops
This week we have one hundred seventy-seven (177) participants in Pink Saturday. There are four new participants, and you will find them at the bottom of the list. Let's all take time to welcome them to Pink Saturday. All participants are listed in the order in which they began participating.
Please take the time to visit other participants, and leave a comment to let them know you stopped by to enjoy their pink. Pink Saturday is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet others in the blogging community. I promise you it is worth the effort because you will not only see lots of pink, you will meet incredibly nice and talented people. Please refer to my post dated January 8 for more information about Pink Saturday.
Remember that my reminder e-mail stated I needed your plan for participating today no later than 8 a.m. EST Friday. If you don't see your name and link here it is because I did not receive your plan for participating by that time.
I want to thank those of you that take the time to leave me a comment. I love reading what you all have to say.
Reminder - We have a weekly challenge for you to visit the blog of at least one participant that you have never visited before. Then next Saturday include that blog and a link in your post. Quite a few of you have been done this challenge, and have met some of the great Pink Saturday participants. Thank you for sharing with us.This
week I am featuring two blogs of Pink Saturday participants. These
Pink Saturday participants have requested to be a featured blog, and
there will be up to five featured blogs each Saturday. Please visit,
get to know and say hello to these participants. They have each
written the following personal greetings to you.

Happy pink saturday, sweetpea! I sent a couple of boxes to our troops three years ago and one came back. I don't know if the other one got through, but I'll try again. I sent things other than cookies, but if this is an organized thing maybe I'll have better luck. I LOVE our troops and pray for them regularly. They're my heroes! So, Valrie, give you son a kiss from me next time you see him, sugar!!!

I have heard of this program. Some of local churches send shoe boxes of things they can use. We can never do enough for all they sacrifice for us. I trust all goes well for this fine looking young man.

As the mother of a soldier I am happy to send cookies to our troops! They so love getting goodies from home. A lot of then don't have friends or family who are able to do that for them for one reason or another. Great posting Beverly! Thanks again for always managing to spread the word about a very worthy cause! Marcia

Hi Beverly,
thank you for hosting this nice blog get-together! I hope that you stop by and look at my post! I've already med so many nice bloggers and will continue to go through the list over the weekend to meet and follow more!
Today, we sent a cell phone to the source that collects cell phones for the troops who don't have one to call their families. I hope that it arrives in OK shape to be able to use.

What a wonderful thing to do in honor of our Military. I have two nephews who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan and our son-in-law as well. We are so thankful they returned home safe and sound... Blessings to our men and women.
On another note...
Thank you for featuring me on PINK SATURDAY this week, Miss B. I was a tad bit late getting my post up as I couldn't figure out WHY Blogger kept turning my pictures from vertical to horizontal. Finally had to GOOGLE the issue and figured out what to do about 1:00AM. What a nightmare at first but did get it up and going in time! Whoot! Whoot!
Blessings to you this day my friend. Thank you for hosting the party for us pink lovers week after week!
Love to you~

Dear Bev,
Thank you I have women donate their church services to expand this effort, a local girl scout troop, and many schools and coillege campuses! If everyone thinks outside the box, I just know our PINK Bloggers and followers will help to make this a HUGE PINK success.
Posted by: Valrie | September 25, 2010 at 02:28 PM
What a great idea for a great cause! I'm with you in spirit, although I won't be sending anything (it'd probably be just crumbs by the time the package arrived, and also it might contravene some health&safety thing re food). I'm sure this will be a great (deservedly) success.
Happy Pink Saturday, Beverly!
