Yes, it is true.
I have always dreamed of a white Christmas.
But, I can assure you that spending most of my life in South Florida
that was a only a dream.
And, even after moving further north twenty years ago,
this was my first white Christmas.
White Christmas around our home.
These photos were made early in the morning,
and it snowed for the remainder of the day.
Dreams do come true.

Beautiful snow pictures. We had snow for Christmas also..the first in many years!
Blessings,
Shirley

We didn't have snow but it never got out of the 40's here in central Florida yesterday. Your photos are just beautiful. It looks like a light fluffy snow. Stay safe and warm.

Oh, it is so beautiful to look at. I haven't seen snow in over twenty years. It rarely snows here in the Florida panhandle although we did have about ten little snow flurries. You wouldn't believe the excitement that caused. I am afraid if we did have snow we would be stranded inside until it melted - we can barely drive in the rain, it would be disasterous to try driving in snow.
Enjoy it.

Your photos look like Christmas cards! So beautiful. We got snow here in Tennessee, too, but nothing like that!

Just think of each little infinitesimal snowflake, floating down to take its place on a bare branch, and the infinite numbers it takes to cover and form and make that filigree that covers your landscape in all its shapes and patterns---truly a How Great Thou Art moment.
This is just so lacily lovely, and our snow has hung around so long it's shopworn and gloppy, so I've really enjoyed your sharing these this morning. I love that you live where the plows don't come through up close to your house and spoil the effect too soon, and these photos will be a forever memory.

I hate snow! I really do, mostly because it is usually accompanied by ice, freezing temperatures, slush, and I tend to fall. I lived in Chicago for over 25 years. I've had more than enough "White Christmas" snows! Nevertheless, these photos show just why snow continues to have legions of fans! It can be beautiful, so perfectly fluffy and pristine....as long as I am inside looking out or looking at other folk's gorgeous photos, even I can see the appeal. This certainly makes a perfect "White Christmas"!! I'm thrilled for you to get to experience such beauty for the first time. I'm also thrilled that the snow is where you are and NOT where I am!! LOL!
(I also LOVE your beautiful house!! I don't recall seeing it before.)

What beautiful pictures of the snow! I love a couple of days of snow once or twice in the winter. Your house is beautiful in the snow! You should use some of these pictures for Christmas cards next year! Have a great week!
Love,
Lottie

Hi Beverly, these photos are magic looking. Just gorgeous. I just talked to John and he has the same snow pics of the lacy trees. They had 7.5 inches. They were thrilled with the beauty of it all as well.
Molly, Jake and Roxie are going to the wedding. Yvonne, her mom and Roger are not going. I should email you but I am too tired to change this.
Love you bunches, Jeanne

Unreal! S Florida? Crazy, huh? These photos are amazing and I'm so glad you shared them with us. I have been digging through my photos of past snows, trying to find something that looked like January. None of my Pacific Northwest snow photos are so beautiful. Hope you defrost soon and get back to sane temperatures.

Oh Susan...in South Florida?...do you think...perhaps...Southern California..could get some? I mean..not in the high mountains..but down here...below the clouds? :)
But of course that could happen..so...should I hold me breath? Perhaps not..but gosh that is just gorgeous! Something that should be on the cover of a magazine. If that were MY home I would make photo's and frame them. No need to buy Kincade (sp?) paintings... I would take one of your home any time!
Thanks for sharing ...I loved it!

Just gorgeous photos and they difinitely look like a Christmas card. Your home is beautiful too. We had snow flurries here in N FL but I can tell you that it has snowed several times in my lifetime here. I can remember as a child living in Pensacola looking out the window and seeing the cow knee deep in snow. My dad took a pic of it sooooooooo it does happen even in the panhandle of FL.

Awww so beautiful snow, white and magic in the air. I enjoyed very very much seeing those shots from your zone. Plus, very pleased to see your dream came true. Hope you and yours had a merry Christmas. Be merry and be bright in the Newest Year 2011:)
Christmas was a yellow one in Istanbul. It was celebrated like under a late summer night. It was super cool, hard to say a december night.

Beverly, I would have to say that without a doubt your pictures of your White Christmas, especially the third one , are the most beautiful I have ever seen. Your home is beautiful and a have never seen such crisp white snow. Just dreamy. Such a contrast from the dirty snow in roads we see on the news. Happy New Year, blessings, Marta.
