No, not yet. But I did see Black Swan...

Yes! My sweetheart took me to see it Valentine's evening - after a lovely dinner out. It's such a good movie. We both enjoyed it.

Not yet, but it's definitely at the top of the list. I just now saw all the other players---Gambon, Spall, Jacobi, Pearce (kin to a friend), so doubly YES) and I DO love dear wacky Helena. One of the scenes in movies which make me just cackle is her talking that lady-like stroll in RWAV, and encountering all the naked gentlemen frolicking in the pond. I thought Victorian ladies would just faint, or at least scurry away like the Dashwoods when Edward returned, but she just stands her ground and laughs.
Yes. I DO intend to see it, very soon. And I think all the awards last night were very aptly given (and even presented well, with a lack of all that canned fol-de-rol stammered by the presenters, which only delays things disagreeably).
Of course, Colin and Geoffrey just go without saying, but we always do.
Can you tell I haven't had anyone to talk to this morning? Happy Monday!

I love Mamma Mia and think Colin Firth is a fabulous actor.

We saw it a couple of weeks ago.....and I was nuts over it. It's one of those few movies that I look forward to seeing again.
Ditto to Donnie. Some local "theater" folks in KC were poo-pooing his agent (Colin Firth's) for getting him hooked up in Mamma Mia....and especially getting him to wear the spandex in the final number. I think that just proves what a great actor and person he is. He certainly is not full of himself....and he actually seemed to be having fun with the role. There's not a lot of actors that can successfully prance around in skin tight pants and platform boots while singing and dancing (Mama Mia), then deliver one of the most stellar performances ever about a very serious topic and time. (The King's Speech). Evidently Queen E gave the movie her approval! ;)
I just wished Geoffrey Rush would have received the best supporting actor......and Helena the best supporting actress. They were also wonderful.
Now, I'm heading back to bed.....I've been puny since Saturday. :(

I saw it several weeks ago. Being a 1st generation Yank from an English family married to a Brit, and a dealer in English antiques and British Royal memorabilia I wouldn't have missed it for anything! I felt the portrayals of the royal family were very true and the settings sumptious. Some of the scenes were very historically correct...even the dialog in places. The language is a bit offensive in places, but you have to overlook that. A great movie with incredibley talented actors.

No, not yet. It will be when we can rent it from NetFlix. 'Cause we just don't go to the movies any more. I prefer being able to Pause a dvd, when necessary. And sitting in my comfy chair, to watch. Etc.
Yes, we are very spoiled by NetFlix. :-)

Nope, but as soon as they show it on TV with all of the R-rated stuff deleted, I'm going to see it!

I want to see this movie very much. It left our theater when I had my eye surgery. We both wanted to see it but such is life. We WILL see it ASAP somehow.
I thought the Academy Awards was the best I have seen in years. In fact I didn't watch it for the last two years because it just wasn't entertaining and the awards were disappointing. I loved it this year. I did miss some because of snoozing a bit. Sigh. I saw the most important awards thank goodness.
Love you,
Jeanne

No and you'll have to read my post from Sunday on why I've not been watching movies.
P.S. I'm already scouring places for the next pic picture to post on Saturday.
Have a great evening!
