This week I am featuring Aunt Snow at Doves Today. Aunt Snow first participated in Pink Saturday July 26, 2008 (which just so happened to be my birthday.). Aunt Snow, which is her blogging name in honor of her Aunt Snow, is an amazing person. She is quite a writer, and her blog is like a gift to all visitors. She leads an interesting life, and she gifts us by sharing her experiences. Please click over to visit, and leave her a comment so she can meet you. Aunt Snow, thank you for sharing your world with us, and for all you do to make Pink Saturday special.
Take a minute to go meet Aunt Snow, and please introduce yourself.
You'll be glad you did. Aunt Snow has written the following personal message to you.
- Aunt Snow at Doves Today
Thank you, Beverly, for featuring my blog for Pink Saturday. I've wanted to write since I was a child, but never felt I had the time. A few years ago, I started my blog, Doves Today, so that I could share my life in Southern California with my mother, who lived in Texas at the time.
Pink Saturday has been a source of inspiration for me. Finding something to write about, thinking of a story or a unique aspect has been a wonderful creative exercise. I owe so much to Beverly for giving me this opportunity to write.
I live in the Santa Monica Mountains outside of Los Angeles, and I like to write about gardening, our local wildfires, and the community I live in. I share my home with [The Man I Love] and our dog Jack. We have a son who is now studying in the United Kingdom.
I'm fascinated with history, and particularly that of Los Angeles - a fascinating place to explore that I never get tired of.
And Mom - now she's reading my blog on her I-Pad!!
Have a great Pink Saturday, everyone!

Have you all watched the Royal Wedding? I love weddings, and the promise of shared lives of love and partnership. I have been blessed with a wonderful marriage of over forty years. Since I have weddings on my mind, I am sharing memories of my own wedding. Some of you saw this last year, but romance and sweet memories are always special. This is my headpiece, our wedding photo album and my wedding dress is the background. I painted the design on our wedding album.

LOL Well, I know where everyone has been in this last minute! Trying to be the first one in today. LOL I can't believe we are all so on top of this, chicks! Congratulations to The Old Parsonage for being first. I just looooove this game....
xoxo,
Connie

Oh, that wedding was beautiful. A very pretty bride in a beautiful dress and what a handsome man prince William is. He sure looks like his mother.
Happy pink Saturday..

I have looked at news headlines about the wedding but otherwise been too busy babysitting grandchildren. In fact, I'm surrounded by them as I posted my link and comment. LOL :) My sweet joys! When they're not fussin' and fuedin', then they're my prickly roses :) I did, however, tape it for my granddaughter and I think we may enjoy a snippet of it tonight.
Thanks for another delightfully PINK Saturday. Would you believe it, I even have the grandkids on the lookout for fun PINKS for me when we are out and about. :) Have a blessed week.

I watched the Royal Wedding, too, with a couple of friends. We're all lacking in sleep today but it was worth it. It was such a beautiful event and Catherine's dress was absolutely perfect. Hope you have a lovely weekend. Happy Pink Saturday!

Beverly, I imagine most of the world is thinking about weddings today. I watched every minute of the royal wedding. Congratulations on 40+ years. We are right behind you. We've been married almost 40 years. Thanks for sharing these treasures from your wedding day. Now we need to see a photo of you in your wedding dress.

What a fabulous album - the painted finish you did is just lovely (sigh). Yes, I did watch The Wedding - every single second of it! SO romantic, and beautifully staged, not a single hiccup from start to finish.
I'm so glad I've been able to leave you a comment - my Comments on Blogger are still very hit&miss (sometimes they'll register, other times not, which is very frustrating). Happy Pink Saturday, and congratulations on more than 40 years of marriage! Hugs from the UK.

This is my first pink Saturday - very exciting. All this pink is just about to put me over the edge. I posted my pink cameo cookies - very vintage jewelry-like! And now my guilty confession for the day. I watched the royal wedding not once, but twice.

I watched some of the wedding on Yahoo. I just felt so sad that Princess Diana wasn't there. I remember watching her wedding. This looked so much more like a love match. Good for them. I hope they live to be as old and cute as Queen Elizabeth in her pretty yellow outfit!

I do remember you sharing your wonderful wedding items before.....and I loved seeing them again. I, too, have been married for over 40 years. WHERE did the time go? I really does seem like yesterday that my dad was walking me down the aisle!
I saw bits and pieces of the wedding today...what an event! I thought Kate was gorgeous...and I loved her gown. Everyone seemed so genuinely happy!
Hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday.....and that you find lots of time to spend with your groom!

Hi Beverly. Seeing this lovely photo brought back such memories. Were we really that young once? We'll be celebrating our 32nd in September. I'm so glad I've had my best friend beside me all these years. We've been through it all together. In our throw-away world, that really means something. I'm so glad you've been able to share your life with your best friend. Your wedding album is very special. God bless you both, and Happy Pink Saturday! Hugs, Terri

I watched the wedding live, although I'm not a big follower of the royal family. Have to admit I was rather unimpressed by the event as a whole, but I did notice the stark contrast of the true joy that they shared vs. the wedding his parents had. I truly do hope that he and Kate have a much happier life than his parents.
Thanks so much for hosting the party and congrats on your lasting marriage.

I just watched the Barbara Walters special about the wedding...Dreamy, for sure!!! I think every little girl will go to bed tonight dreaming about becoming a 'Princess'! Kate Middleton was regal, and I think will be perfect in her new role as the Dutchess! Her and William make a gorgeous couple!!! I know Diana is smiling!
I looove your sweet wedding vignette! Your headpiece is wonderful, thank you for sharing this with us, and hosting 'Pink Saturday', you're the best! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs

Love your Wedding memorabelia!! So precious. My Mom made my headpiece from a small spary of flowers and netting. My dress was actually a "Confirmation" dress that was ankle length, pure white with satin cumberbund waist and a long sleeved jacket with pointed sleeves over the back of the hands. It was what my Mom could afford and no one knew that it was not a true Wedding Dress. It was none the less Grand! Hugs and luv, Kerrie

Hi Bev,
Although I linked my post yesterday, I realized this morning that I hadn't left a comment. Things with my husband have been rough this week, he has once again slipped backward. So I am in that once again scrambled eggs mode. This may sound crazy, but with all the ups and downs of this difficult disease which creates so much uncertainty in my life, I can always count on this lovely event. A little respite from my woes. A pretty pink day that I am sure helps so many others who have other things going on in their lives. I look forward to celebrating three years of wonderful Pink posts. Thank you for being you Bev.

Yes, weddings are days full of promise and hope. Those of us who stick it out through thick and thin are fortunate - it takes a lot of hard work and dedication.
The wedding was fabulous and so worth getting up early! Kate and Wills will make it I think - they're sure they have each picked the right person to weather the storms ahead, life as a royal cannot be easy. Diana shaped him from birth, it shows as he's caring and compassionate, something not really inbred into the royals, except perhaps his great grandparents George and the Queen Mum who showed their stuff during WWII and kept up the spirit of those Londoners during the Blitz. Meanwhile, Kate, a commoner, from what appears to be a hard working, successful, close-knit family, knows what the ordinary Brits expect from their monarchs. These two will hopefully bring the 'Great' back to Britain in the future.
Off to Britain myself this week - going home after all the hoopla - but will still have a great time I know!
Hugs - Mary

Look at all the pretty PINK
I loved the wedding and hope it turns out much better than the previous royal weddings. But then I shouldn't say that should I?
I think this will be beautiful fresh start for England and the royal families.(wonder how many babies there will be)?
I loved all the hats and Kate was soooooooooooo happy and a beautiful smile all day not nervous at all.
Thanks for pink saturday

Your blog is more successful by the week! :)
Craig The Scot joked that when William said "I will", Kate said "Che-ching!!!"
That's a funny joke, and more suited to thousands of gold-diggers from around the world...
I like her (him, too), and I wish them the best! :)
