No fair! It's so hard. Well, I love the book Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery (but she's dead). I love the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stig Larsson (but he's dead). I like Wayne Johnson from Newfoundland (my home province); Alice Sebold opens up your mind to all sorts of issues; Ilsa Dewar is a nice read; and any good mystery author like P D James. I'm just about to start Little Bee by Chris Cleave; I hear that's good.

It has got to be Agatha Christie for my favorite type of pleasure reading.

Janet Evanovich.

If I had to pick just one, I'd say Rosamunde Pilcher. I love her books.
Enjoy your day, Beverly!

That is a very hard question! I have many favorites. Jan Karon is one of them...

Penny

Good morning Beverly, I hope this will go through, The connection is erratic at best. My favorite author when I was young was Louisa Mae Alcott, but now I agree with Penny. Jan Karon's Mitford series of books has been a wonderful read. I also enjoyed the Harry Potter series by JK Rowlings. She has the most awesome imagination.
We are off to the park again.
Have a happy day.
Love you, Jeanne

Since Rosamund Pilcher was taken I will have to say Gladys Taber. Her books are like sitting down with a letter from a favorite aunt over a cup of tea and hearing the news of home.

John Steinbeck

Penny Vincenzi is British and I just love her books. The characters are interesting and believable and, as with all good books, you cannot put them down.

Catching up a bit - thinking about books and my favorite authors. That's a hard one - there are several. At the top of my list is Jane Kirkpatrick. Love her true life books written with such style and care.
