This week I am featuring Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage. Claudia first participated in Pink Saturday in March 2009. Have you ever met someone that you like instantly? That is how it is to meet Claudia. She is everything you could want in a friend. She is intelligent, kind, fun and honest. She has a gift in her writing style that makes you feel as if you are sitting with her and chatting. Claudia is someone that I know I would love to spend time with and have as a friend. So, if you already have the pleasure of knowing Claudia, go say hello and Happy Pink Saturday. But, if you haven't met Claudia yet, today is your lucky day. Go visit, get to know her, and soon you will be calling her friend, too.
Take a minute to go meet Claudia, and please introduce yourself.
Claudia has written the follow message to you.
- Claudia at Mockingbird Hill Cottage
I am honored that Beverly has featured me this week! Thank you, Beverly. My name is Claudia and I work in the theater. I have been involved with theater all my life – first as a professional actress, then as a teacher and coach. I spent many years teaching Voice, Speech and Dialects at Boston University and the University of San Diego. While I was teaching, I also began to work as a professional coach – coaching many, many productions and hundreds of actors. Now I freelance as a Voice and Text Coach, working all around the country. That’s what I do for a living. However, my true passions are my home, my husband and my dogs. As my husband and I both work in the Arts, we spent many years renting in various cities. When we bought our cottage 6 years ago we were beyond thrilled and promptly named it Mockingbird Hill Cottage.
Since I love to write, blogging has become a wonderful way to share my ‘adventures’ whether they occur at home or on the road. You see, even though I travel somewhat frequently, I truly love being home. I’m a nester. I love gardening, decorating, collecting, stitching, knitting, crocheting, quilting, working on my dollhouse, playing with my dogs. It’s always been this way. Heck, I used to decorate the inside of my Barbie case with hanging lamps and wallpaper. I share all of these things with my readers. Nothing makes me happier than a day spent puttering around the house. Through blogging, I have discovered a love of photography. My camera and my laptop – what would I do without them?
Needless to say, I also love pink. My mom used to call me her ‘Pink Bunny’ when
I was a little girl. I have met many friends through Beverly’s Pink Saturday. In fact, Pink Saturday opened up a whole new world for me. I am forever grateful. Though I’m not able to participate as often as I would like, I will always have a special place in my heart for Pink Saturday.
I hope you stop by – you’re welcome anytime!

Your crepe myrtles are absolutely beautiful! I just love all the color they produce. It's lovely.

Love your crepe myrtles, Beverly. How I would love to have some of them, but I honestly don't know if they grow in Missouri. I need to investigate that!
Just finished putting the finishing touches on the Grand Boy's Charlie Brown shirt and shirts that he will be wearing at his Charlie Brown Birthday party tomorrow...he will certainly look the part! :)
Hope you've had a great week. Happy Pink Sat. and thanks for keeping us all on track!

Hello dear Beverly! Thank you so very much for hosting your sweet pink party! Your Crepe Myrtle is lovely and so very Southern, isn't it? I don't see much of it here in the Pacific Northwest! Thank you for sharing!

I tried to grow a crepe myrtle after falling in love with them on a trip to Virginia, but our winters were too harsh for it to survive. I love their color! Happy PS, Beverly! You'll enjoy the MGCC cookbook! Hugs, Pat

What gorgeous Crepe Myrtles. I love your trees. My husband was less enthralled with some we had at one house as their bright flowers actually stained our sidewalk. But they always washed away in the rain and they are so bright and cheerful. Thank you for some fun family memories.

Hi Bev,
I was looking for a way to link gracefully from Where Bloggers Create to Pink Saturday. Your comment sparked inspiration, and I immediately knew where in the post I could link to Pink Saturday. I used some text beneath the Artful Blogging issue to write about Pink Saturday and added My Secret Garden artwork.
Thank you Bev. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a lovely Pink Saturday, I am all linked up.

Hello Beverly! How good it is to be able to have something pink again to post with your party!!! Because of this party, I've had my eyes open to the color pink and have fallen in love with it..especially when mixed with creamy lace! Your crepe myrtle pics are splendid!! I love those trees, and remember peeling the bark off of my Grandmother's trees in her side yard. She used to visit her next-door neighbor and would take a little pathway through the crepe myrtles in her yard to get there. We would go with her of course and be on our 'best' behaviour. There's nothing quite a pretty as those little bunches of flowers, and yours are amazing.
Thanks so much for hosting this weekly linky party. It's always so enchanting to visit all of the participants and see all the beautiful pinks out there! You do such a great job too of reminding too...very appreciated!
Blessings!
