I LOVE all by Jane Austen...Persuasion is such a lovely story! Be sure you see the 1995 film version of this with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds--VERY *swoon-worthy* ;o) Happy Day, Beverly... Thanks for stopping by my new place. Great to catch up with you ((HUGS))

Good morning Beverly, I forgot to comment on Weds. I just did. Jane Austen is a favorite writer of mine and I am sure I read this book but I honestly can't remember the story. I need to check out the book from the library and read it again???

Love you, Jeanne

i stayed up half the night watching Emma on TV. I am not much of a reader, but sure like the movies they make from her books. I guess I am lazy. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.

I just re-started the entire set a couple of months ago, when I learned to use my Nook. It's only for picking up for the car, or for outside, usually, so I've only finished EMMA and am about a third-of-the-way through MANSFIELD PARK. There's just something about those convoluted, elegant sentences, those phrases of centuries ago, those well-spoken, intelligent people, which just carries me to another place. Though I DO occasionally come back slowly to Earth, saying things like, "I DO think it's going to rain---do not YOU?" or asking Sweetpea "Shall we take a turn in the garden before lunch?" for a while before I land back in now-speak.

Miss A DID beat all, didn't she?

Hi, Beverly. It's hard to go wrong with Jane Austen. It's nice to have authors you can trust for a well-told story, isn't it?

Miss Kathy

Beverly - This has ALWAYS been one of my favorites. I think Anne Eliot was her most mature heroine and some of the lines are so powerful - revealing the human heart.
The movie with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds from BBC is fabulous!

Joy!

I have a complete set of Jane Austin novels waiting to be read. Glad to know that Persuasion won your heart, Beverly. I'm still in Colorado --flying back this weekend. :)

Aunt Snow

Persuasion is one of my favorite Austens, too. And I see your book has an intro by another favorite author of mine, Margaret Drabble!

Sara Chapman in Seattle, USA

Beverly, that is so cool—I also finished Persuasion just this week. What are the chances? I did enjoy that movie, the Jane Austen Book Club (or similar title) and it inspired me to read the ones I haven't yet. My sister said she envied me to have some JA books still to discover new!
