I recently received an e-mail from one of our "pinkies", Kandy.  Kandy shared with me something wonderful that her sweet daughter Elizabeth is doing, and she thought some of you would want to help.  I asked Kandy to have Elizabeth write and tell us about the project she is undertaking.

I think we can all feel proud of this caring young girl.

Here is sweet Elizabeth's message:

Hi..my name is Elizabeth. I am 13 years old.

I started "Elizabeth's Hands for Christ" when I was seven years old...I used my birthday money to buy Christmas presents for a few families in my home town...and from there it just took off.

I got donations from different people all through the years..I have sent Christmas gifts to children who were hurricane Katrina victims...our local women's shelter always has children that need help. Sometimes I even just bought someones groceries.

I feel kind of funny telling all this because I don't like attention drawn to me..but my Mom had this idea to ask for donations of fabric so we could make pillow cases for the residents of "Legacy at Parkview " retirement home for Christmas...there are about 50 people living there.My Mom and I plan on sewing them together.

So if you have any cheerful looking fabric just laying around gathering dust, I would be thankful for any help I can get.
