Good morning Beverly, I am trying to think of the most awesome thing I have ever seen. It has to be a rainbow that we saw on our way home from town. We turned on our road which is five miles to our home and lo and behold we were looking at a rainbow that felt like we could almost touch it. The colors were brilliant and the rainbow had the full range of colors. We were stunned when it actually ended in a farmer's pasture right in front of our eyes. We pulled off the road and thought of looking for the pot of gold. Smile!!! Seriously, it was the most beautiful sight and here comes the sad part...My camera was not in my purse. Darn, darn, triple darn!!! I wonder if we will ever see such a sight again. If we do I guarantee, my camera will be in my purse!!!
Love you, Jeanne

Watching my friend give birth. The miracle of what happens with the growth and nurture of a fetus and THEN the miracle of what happens to a woman's body so that child can be born is absolutely mind-blowing. "We are wonderfully and marvelously made."

Well hard to choose the MOST awesome, there have been such a lot of amazing moments having lived this long!!!!! However, in recent memory, it's a toss up between the mighty Zambezi River falling over the edge at Victoria Falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, and the pair of magnificent lions mating on the dry river bed just a few yards in front of our Land Rover in South Africa! Needless to say, Africa was actually a million awesome moments and I can't wait to go back.....next year!
I'll see sweet Jeanne tomorrow - looking forward to that moment too, lol!!
Hugs - Mary

Quite a few for other times, but one I was just thinking of and describing to Sweetpea yesterday---the night we howled with the wolves as the full moon rose and then went into eclipse.
I don't usually post links, but this was the experience: http://lawntea.blogspot.com/2010/11/too-much-magic.html

New York City at Christmas time. It brings the song to life, City Sidewalks, people shopping, the displays, the lights. There is no place like it. Richard from My Old Historic House.

The most amazing (non-family-related) thing I have ever seen is Petra. Absolutely unbelievable! I'll do a photo tour on my blog soon.

Other than family things and without going into detail. We had just moved to the country 2 months before and we were on our way to Christmas eve service at a little tiny country church for our first visit. I was feeling very blue and nearly in tears. It was a crystal clear night with lots of stars. As we drove thru the darkness, all of a sudden we spotted way out in the middle of a mown field a tiny little tree, twinkling with lights and a star on top. At that moment I felt like one of the three Kings on their way to meet the new baby Jesus. I can't describe the feelings I was feeling at that moment. But all my blue feelings flew out the window. Later, as we were driving home from church, I left a check and note in the mailbox of the house that was nearest to that field and told them to buy something for themselves or donate to charity. They had made my Christmas! xoxo Lynn
