Thank you to Sally at Smiling Sally for hosting Blue Monday.
Loving thoughts and prayers for you, dear Sally.
♥♥♥
So many of us are feeling blue at the death of Whitney Houston.
And, no one has ever sang our red, white and blue
National Anthem like her.
That day Whitney blessed our country with her gift and her spirit,
and today I believe God has welcomed her into His healing arms.

Good morning Beverly, I'm up early today. Yes, it is a sad day when a wonderful talent and beautiful women such as Whitney Houston, dies in such a tragic way. Wake up America, drugs will kill you.
The National Anthem was amazing and I agree, I have never heard anyone sing it better. I am definitely BLUE in the wake of her loss.
Love you, Jeanne

I just cannot help but wonder where all her support and fans and friends and admirers were when she was alive and falling......she gave us over ten years to see this demise - look at her early interviews..........Hollywood is cold, selfish and fickle. (Consider Michael Jackson and so many others.) They love you and put you on a pedestal. You start slipping, odd behavior, due to whatever-is-your-demon...........your fall, they laugh and kick and ignore you...............then you die much too soon and suddenly you are The King or The Queen by the very people who were laughing and kicking and ignoring just days before.
Hurray for Hollywood? Nah.
Prayers for those who are falling or have fallen or have perished already? You bet.
I know Whitney's last song she sang publically was "Jesus Loves Me." That brings comfort...........because Heaven is the only true safe Haven. Yes, Whitney, Jesus Loves You - this we know, cause the Bible tells us so! RIP

It is never too big a surprise at the loss of a star. The lives they live just ask for trouble. Makes you wonder, who will be next. It seems deaths come in threes.

Even though I am not a big fan of Pop music, I do believe Whitney Houston had one of the most beautiful voices ever. It gives me chills all over listening to her sing The Star Spangled Banner. What a tragic loss for her family and loved ones.

so sad - such a tragic waste of talent and beauty

I am in the minority here- I was not a fan of her rendition of our national anthem. She was a talented artist and it is unfortunate that she had such issues in her life.
sorry I didn't make it to Saturday's party- life is crazy and I'm in the middle of a painting project. On a quick break right now.... thanks for coming by to visit, Beverly.

I agree with you, Beverly. What a tragic loss. She had an incredible spirit that was lost to the world at too early an age.

It is such a tragedy. I also agree with Michele that her downfall seems to have been ignored by all the "celebrities" in her industry and mocked by the tabloids. Now they want to place her back on the pedestal they knocked her off of when she was booed on Soul Train and she started her downward slide. When people make bad choices they need help, not public criticism. OK, off my soap box - I just get my dander up at Hollywood's hypocrisy. RIP, Whitney. You gave us a gift with your recordings.
