Mrs. Magpie

Not the name, but the song. I remember it. Tutti Frutti, aw Rudi. Tutti Frutti, aw Rudi. Tutti Fruitt, aw Rudi. Then all that other jazz they say. LOL

Thanks for the moral support on the blogger issues. So far I have no computer and have to steal Mr. Magpie's when he's not looking or his IPAD like now which I can't see to type on. LOL! It also goes to work with him just like his 'puter/laptop does. He's late today. And I have a mailbox that some nutjob tried to hack to get to my blog. So I just walked off. I can't contact eveyrone who contacts me. But I am still here and stil smiling. Sometimes. LOL!

Love you. Tell Jeanne I love her, too, when you see her and hug her neck for me.

XO,

Sheila

Remember the song, but not the name of the singer.....this brought smiles to my face...

Sock hops were MADE for this song---in fact, I used to have friends over on Saturday mornings, when I'd just put down a good coat of Johnson's wax on the living room and dining room hardwood. We'd put on Daddy's old wool socks and dance to this 45 until someone would shout from the other part of the house: Play something ELSE!!

But this one---this soft, slow hold-a-hand-and-swing number, will forever be Patsy Cline and Charlie dancing, her long skirt softly swirling as they moved perfectly in time together. I may have the sequences mixed up of WHEN it was, but I WANT it to be in the parking lot beneath that neon rainbow.

Hi Beverly, I loved this song too and I would not know who sang it either. I still do not remember him at all. Now I will be playing this song in my brain...thanks. HA!
Love you,
Jeanne

Are you kidding?.....forget GENE VINCENT'S name? NEVER, in a million years. He was one of my favorites and this song was a favorite, too. I played his records over and over and over until I wore them completely OUT. :))

Gene Vincent's back up band was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year (2012). We were at the ceremony, and saw the surviving members who were so grateful to be recognized (finally!) after all these years for their contributions to music. There were a couple of other groups also inducted whose names most people might not recall, but still very important to the development of what is and was known as "Rock and Roll".

    That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
    And never stops at all.
