Love In The Time Of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I participate in an on-line reading group, and each one of us is responsible for picking a book for a month. May was my month, and I choose this book.
I had read so many great reviews, and I was so excited to read this. But, for the first time that I can ever remember, I just can't read this book. And, that is really bothering me.
I always finish books - even ones that I don't like very much. I usually can hardly put a book down until I finish. I am regularly known to stay up until the wee hours just so I can read and know how it ends.
I've been trying for two months to read this because I want to know the story. I've read about one hundred pages, and each page is a chore.
So, have any of you read this? If so, what did you think? Can you say something to convince me that I should continue reading? Is it suddenly going to reach out and grab me? Am I going to end up loving this book? Please tell me what you think.
