My pink contribution for Pink Saturday is this watercolor painted by my father when he was ten years old. The lower right corner has his initials and grade five.
This painting was in the home of my grandmother's until she passed away almost thirty years ago. I was so thrilled to receive this painting by my father, and I never fail to be impressed by the fact he was only ten years old when he painted it. Pretty amazing!
The painting was in an old black frame, and I wanted to have it framed in a way to accentuate the beautiful colors. No surprise that I chose a pink mat to pick up the pinks of the cherry blossoms.
This painting now has a special place in one of our hallways, and it will always be a treasure to me.
This week we have forty-four fabulous participants in Pink Saturday. I want to urge all the participants and everyone reading to take the time to visit each one. Please leave a comment to let them know you stopped by to enjoy their pink. And, have fun.
