Really. I am missing all of you. I enjoy visiting all my blogging friends. You are each such a pleasure in my life.
This morning I am taking my mother for a one week follow-up at the orthopedic clinic. I want to thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. I know she will be feeling better - one day at a time.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for What's My Question Wednesday.
I'm doing the blues again today with Sally at Smiling Sally. Please go by and visit the other blue participants.
My mother is still suffering from her broken shoulder. It will be one week tomorrow, and I will be taking her to the orthopedic clinic for an evaluation. We are praying hard for healing with no surgery.
I guess I don't need to tell you that this is a challenge for us. I hate seeing her in so much pain. My mother lives with us, and that is certainly a blessing. One problem is that we have a three-story house (not counting the attic). She has stayed on the floor with the bedrooms ever since we came home from the emergency department.
I am sorry that I haven't been able to visit any of you, and I so appreciate not only your understanding, but your comments and prayers. They are very uplifting for us. My computer is on the first floor of our home, and she is on the third floor. I haven't wanted to be out of hearing distance, but my son got us a pair of walkie-talkies yesterday. They are really helping - especially when my mother pushes the right button when she is talking. (Just a bit of humor for you.)
I haven't been able to take any pictures this week, but I have this wonderful picture I took early one morning when we were at the beach last year. I think these blues are just perfect.
I want to thank you all for your prayers for my mother. She is eighty years old, and she fell off of our treadmill this past Tuesday. She has a serious break to her humerus at the ball where it connects to her shoulder. We chose the option of seeing how it heals over the next two weeks rather than surgery. We are praying that it will heal so she won't have to endure a surgery with a difficult recovery. My mother is in extreme pain, and it breaks my heart. Please keep her in your prayers.
Also, please understand that I am not going to be able to visit today. I did this post last night while my husband could listen for my mother, but I will not be able to visit today because I will have to stay near her.
My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday is this Pink Lady apple. My cousin told me about these apples years ago, and I do think it is okay to love an apple. Not only are they pretty, but they are delicious. They are very crisp and a perfect balance of tart and sweet. When it comes to apples, I had always been a Granny Smith kind of girl. I can't stand Red Delicious apples.
This week we have one hundred forty-eight (148) participants in Pink Saturday. There are eleven new
participants this week, and you will find them at the bottom of the
list. Let's all take time to welcome them to Pink Saturday. It seems that so many of us have fun with the color pink.
I hope you are all enjoying this as much as I am.
Please take the time to visit other participants, and leave a comment to let them know you stopped
by to enjoy their pink. Pink Saturday
is about having fun, and giving us a chance to meet others in the
blogging community. That is why it is important that we get out and
visit each other. I promise you it
is worth the effort because you will not only see lots of pink,
you
will meet incredibly nice people. Please refer to my post dated January 8 for more information about Pink Saturday.
Please
remember that my reminder e-mail stated I needed your plan for participating today no later than 8 a.m.
EST yesterday. If you don't see your name and link here it is because I
did not receive your plan for participating by that time.
I want to thank those of you that take the time to leave me a comment. I love reading what you all have to say.
I hope everyone has fun with Pink Saturday.
Even if you couldn't participate today, be sure to go visit those who
did, and leave them a comment so they will know you visited.
Get Pink !!!
It's not just a color, it's an attitude.
You are welcome to use the Pink Saturday
button to display on your blog. I've been spotting it on quite a few of your
blogs. Do you have yours yet? Our numbers are growing.

Today I am sharing three blue thimbles. These thimbles were sold by Avon Products in the early eighties. I have six, but I'm only sharing the blue ones today.
The first one doesn't have a date of representation in it, but the second one is circa 1927 and the third is circa 1938. Each one is two inches high.
I have these displayed inside a cabinet in our bedroom. I really should try to sell them some day.
When I was a young girl, I decided I was ready to join our church. I was so excited that by the time they sang the invitational hymn, I was sitting on pins and needles. The hymn was Just As I Am, which was not a favorite of mine. But, just as I decided it was time, a small child sitting next to me threw up. I was speechless to say the least, but I was also sick to my stomach. I have a really strong gag reflex, and that did me in. I had to get out of there. My mother wondered what happened because she knew I had decided to join that day. You won't be surprised to know that this hymn brings back more than one memory to me. And, to this day, I remember what that little girl had for breakfast, and I have an appreciation for Just As I Am. Maybe God thought I needed one more week to think about my decision. Just thought I would share a smile today.
Cielo at The House In The Roses is hosting The Chocolate Cookie Spring Party. Please go visit Cielo and the other participants for a delicious taste of spring.
It is a bit chilly at our house today, so we are having our party in our sunroom instead of on the porch. Please help yourself to some hot raspberry tea, Chocolate Raspberry Thumbprint cookies and fresh strawberries.
Don't you love my new yo-yo runner? I found it at Home Goods. Honestly, I can't leave that place without purchasing something.
This English teapot was left to me by my mother's oldest sister. She was a favorite aunt of mine. The cups and saucers were made by Fire KIng, and the pattern name is Alice. I fell in love with the delicate pattern the first time I saw it, and when I found out the pattern name, I just had to have it in honor of my aunt.
Alice has a delicately embossed floral pattern, and is the oldest Fire King
style. It came out in the early 1940's and only cups, saucers and
dinner plates were made. The cup and saucers, which are much more
plentiful than the plates, were given away with Quaker Oats, while the plates were a movie goer's premium. I have collected ten of the cups, saucers and plates. The plates are really more of a luncheon size. Here is a close-up so you can see the pattern.
