Pink Saturday - March 21

Happy Pink Saturday!

Most of you remember my 365 in 365 giveaway winner was announced last Saturday, and many of you wanted to see what was in the hatbox.  The winner, Rosie at Rose Colored Glasses, posted about it here.

My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday are the pink Bs that I have hanging in my home office.  Remember B is for Beverly.  I'm not much of a nickname kind of girl.  The shadowbox is filled with some of my baby things that my mother saved.  There is a silver jewelry box, my baby spoon, a picture, my brush and comb, a pair of my baby shoes and an announcement card from the hospital.

This week we have one hundred forty-nine (149) participants in Pink Saturday.  There are five new participants this week, and you will find them at the bottom of the list.  Let's all take time to welcome them to Pink Saturday.  It seems that so many of us have fun with the color pink.  I hope you are all enjoying this as much as I am.

My Answer

Bo at Blinks and Winks From Brown-Eyes has told me that I should start to give my answer to the Wednesday question.  So, I will begin to give my answer on my Thursday post.

My question was
What has been the most life-changing experience you've ever had?

Just like each of you, I've experienced several things in my life that I would consider life-changing.  In fact, I always considered myself a strong and in control kind of person because of the many lessons I had learned in life.  I thought I was pretty good at taking care of things - my job, my family, my friends, etc.

But, then in an instant something happened that I couldn't control.  I was so afraid.  I felt like someone was standing on my chest, and I could barely remember to breathe.

I prayed non-stop, but the fear still gripped my heart.

Then one day I was sobbing in the shower and all the while praying to God.  The shower was so hot and the room was steamy.  And, in the middle of that hot and steamy shower a cool breeze came over me.  At that moment I knew that everything was really going to be okay.

At that moment I knew the meaning of the phrase "Let go, and let God".  God had reached through my fear and desperation to make me realize that He is in control.  Intellectually, I had known that God was in control, but emotionally I wanted to protect those I love.

God blesses my family.  He is in control.  I will always remember the day He sent that cool breeze to tell me to let go.  The weight of all of my woes were lifted from my shoulders forever.

Remember this from last Saturday?

Happy Pink Saturday!

Today I'm celebrating something special!

365 in 365

My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday is this hatbox and what is contained within.

You see, I started my blog in March 2006, but I shut it down for a few months in late 2007.  March 8, 2008 I began posting once again, and today marks 365 posts in 365 days.  And, I am having a giveaway to celebrate.  The winner will receive this hatbox and everything I've enclosed.  But, what is inside is a surprise.  Right now there are five things inside - two things are breakable, one thing has a wonderful fragrance and all five items are things I love.

To be eligible to win, you must leave a comment on this post by midnight Thursday, March 12.  I will only draw from those commenting on this post.  I will draw the name of the winner on Friday, March 13 - which will make it a lucky day for someone.  The winner's name will be announced on Pink Saturday, March 14.
