My husband built this bridge which spans a creek bed in our back yard. About half of our back yard is on the wooded wide of the creek bed. He cleared the underbrush years ago, and we have several volunteer dogwood trees in this area. We have planted several dozen azaleas in this area, but we lost about half of them during the severe drought our part of the country experienced. It has been our plan to build a screened white gazebo in a clearing, but it hasn't ever made it to the top of our list. Maybe one of these days.
We always referred to the bridge as Granddad's Bridge, but with the artistic talent of Donna at
Donna's Art, the name became official. Donna painted a sign which now proudly proclaims the landmark. The sign was presented to my husband as a gift from our sweet grandson.
I'm certain you can imagine that a cross over the bridge into the woods is a great adventure for a child. You just never know what cool things are to be found.
