We're celebrating our first birthday today.

Let's have some pink cake.  Doesn't it look divine?!
I know it looks small, but don't worry.
There is plenty for all of us.
Here's the recipe just in case you want to bake one yourself.

And of course, we must have pink balloons.

I can hardly believe that it has been one year since we started sharing Pink Saturday.  My first Pink Post was April 12, 2008, and the first day others started posting with me was May 31, 2008.  The first two participants were Donna at Donna's - In The Attic and Jeanne at Backyard Neighbor.  Here is a link to that post.  The second week there were an additional twelve new participants, and it has continued to grow and grow.  Here is a link to the second week post.  Just look where we are now.  At some time there have been 442 different people that have participated in Pink Saturday.

Where Would I Go

Please take note that this will be two consecutive Thursdays that I post my answer to Wednesday's question.  I'm on a roll here.  Granted it is a small roll, but it counts.

There are so many places I want to go in the United States, but I will give you my top picks.  I have been to so many wonderful place, but I am only giving places that I haven't been to yet.

1.  The New England States - Ah, I so want to visit New England.  My husband wants to go in Autumn, but any time of year would be awesome for me.  I know I would love it all, but in my mind Vermont would be my favorite.

2.  New Orleans - I long to go visit this historic city.  I want to take in the charm and ambience, walk the streets and enjoy the music.

3.  Mackinaw Island - This looks like such a wonderful place to get away, enjoy the views and relax.

4.  Sonoma - Do I even have to give a reason?  Ah, I would love it.

You all have been so thoughtful asking about my mother.  I took her to the doctor last Friday, and the x-rays show that she is slowly healing.  They have ordered physical therapy, but the first appointment I could get is June 9.  So, we are continuing to do the exercises at home until then.  We thank you for your continued prayers and support.

This hymn was written by William Walford of England, and it was first published in 1845. Walford was an ordained minister and a tutor.  He was also blind.  I remember this song from the time I was a young child. What a comfort our time of prayer is.

My pink contribution for this Pink Saturday is this exquisite pink rose.  This is Kordes Perfecta, and it was first released in Germany in 1957.  I am enchanted by all the lovely shades of pink, and by its lovely fragrance.
