Today I am participating for the first time in Susan's Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch. Although I always set my table, I never remember to take pictures. So, I wrote myself a note to remember to take pictures of our Fourth of July table. I know having to write myself a note is pretty sad, but it worked.
There were five of us celebrating the Fourth in our home, and we had a great time.
This is an overview of the entire table. I have the hardest time taking pictures in my dining room, but this gives you an idea.
The next two pictures are two of the place settings. The chargers are actually plates I picked up at one of the dollar stores, but I'm not sure which one. They were available with blue or red rims, and I got some of each. The are topped with White Coupe Centura. They are part of one of the sets of dishes I got when we got married - almost thirty-nine years ago. We have used them every day over all of those years. I chose these as my every day dishes, and a lot of people had something to say about me choosing all white. I know you all know how versatile they are. The flatware is stainless Paul Revere by Oneida, and the glasses are Fostoria, but I don't remember the pattern name. I've had the napkins almost as long as I've had the tablecloth. I often use ribbon instead of napkins rings, and I keep a selection on hand.
Our menu consisted of roasted, barbecued pork, hotdogs and buns with chili and coleslaw, baked bean casserole, sweet potato salad, fresh green beans and chips. And, for dessert there were red velvet cupcakes - or Cracker Jacks. I had watermelon, too, but everyone was too full for another bite.
