Between Naps On The Porch.
The first pictures are the before look. The room wasn't bad, but it wasn't very functional. I had some furniture which was had been in our son's den when he still lived at home, plus several odd and end pieces from around the house. Everything had a place, but it didn't really work efficiently. These pictures were made about four years ago, and I had added four more years worth of "stuff".
I had been wanting to redo this room for several years, and had plenty of time to think about how I wanted it to work.
This was a view of the opposite side of the room. I had my printers and scanner on this side. As you can see, the printers were near the floor, and they were not easily accessible.
Here was a view of my desk. It was even more filled than usual in this picture because I had my birthday cards placed. Additionally, I had a rolling card under the desk crammed full of supplies.
Now, for the new views. The work space is in a u-configuration. This side of the room is where my cable connection is, and I planned so I could have my computer and printers/scanners/network connectin on the same side.
This is my open work surface area. The window looks out on our rose garden.
This side has drawers that hold stamps, inks, paint and other stuff. I had file drawers added so we could eliminate a file cabinet we had in a cubby in the hall.
A closer view. We had a box built to sit on the back of this counter. It conceals all of the cords, and gives me a place to keep my jars of ribbons.
The tilt-bins are so handy for small things like eyelets, clips, beads, etc. I added a vase of fresh flowers in celebration of my new space.
I especially wanted open counter here for my paper cutters.
This is the cubby in the hall where we had a file cabinet. My husband built these shelves in this space to hold my cardstock. I think he did a fantastic job.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my "new" space. I am loving it. And, many thanks to my husband and son for helping me with the breakdown and setup of the room.
