Current Events
- It has been a little more than one month since I had my surgery, and I am feeling great. You will never know how much your care, concern, prayers and thoughts meant to me. Thank you to each of you with all of my heart.
- Our deck redo was completed just before the first of the year. The painters have been here last week and this week to paint the outside of our house. The wood on the deck had to age for a few months, so the painters will also be staining the deck floor and columns. We also have them painting and staining the bridge over our creek bed.
- I've been busy trying to gather things I need/want for the deck and terrace below. I've purchased a round table, five chairs and umbrella for the deck, and it is waiting in the garage to make its appearance. I still have a shopping list which includes the "perfect" bench for the terrace. I know it is out there somewhere waiting for me to find it.
- I've also purchased plants, pots, potting soil, rocks, etc to be used when the deck is finished. They are all out on the covered terrace under the deck.
- There are things from the sunroom in our kitchen and breakfast room, and things from the front porch in our foyer due to the painting ongoing. Now, you've probably figured out that I am a neat freak, so you must know I am dying to get everything back where it belongs - and orderly.
- Our daffodils, camellias and pear tree are blooming. It won't be too long before the dogwood and azaleas are blooming. Spring is my favorite time of year, and I will soon be in bloom bliss. Don't worry though because my bliss will be tempered by that nasty yellow pollen which consumes the outdoors - and gives you itchy eyes and throat, not to mention sneezy and runny nose. My husband has been busy cleaning planting beds and sprucing up the lawn, and we both have early signs of allergy symptoms.
- We are having to replace both of our heating/air conditioning units. They are supposed to be here to do the work this Friday and Saturday.
- Pink Saturday continues to grow and be fantastic. I will be sharing some exciting news with you soon.
