Once Upon A Time

 

 

Once upon a time a very nice lady

 

wanted a bottle tree

 

of her very own.

 

She looked the land over

 

for several years,

 

but she never found

 

the bottle tree of her dreams.

 

 

The incredibly handsome, talented and kind

 

husband of this lady

 

helped her search for

 

the bottle tree of her dreams.

 

 

Then one day he planted

 

a bottle tree seed

 

in their garage.

 

 

The seed began to grow,

 

and he transplanted

 

the bottle tree to their woods.

 

 

 

The tree was very happy

 

living in their woods,

 

and it soon began

 

to grow bottles of all colors.

 

 

 

Now it shares it's bright colors

 

for all to see.

 

And, the lady and her wonderful husband

 

live happily ever after.

I've been participating in Pink Saturday for almost three years, and I am sure I've posted well over a hundred blog posts with the color pink. I do love flower photography and since many of my favorite flowers are pink, it's a match made in heaven. What a great opportunity to share pinkness with others who love the color and all the tenderness and sweetness it implies.

I'd like to share three photos with you here. First, a photo of my magnolia tree in my backyard on a blissfully sunny day just this week. Since I live in Seattle which is mostly gray and cool, sunshine is particularly appreciated. We actually get a bit giddy when that strange bright orb shows in the sky.

 

 

 Then, one of my favorite haunts, Seattle's Volunteer Park Conservatory (I adore their flowers so much I wrote a photo book about them!), has this perfect cherry tree across from it. Don't you love the swath of fallen pink petals in the roadway, too?

 

 And finally, just because I love tulips, a photo of a bouquet purchased for a friend. She loved them as much as I did. And the flowers are done now, but the image lives on.

This week for Pink Saturday

I am sharing one corner of our back yard.

Everything is looking so pretty right now,

and I thought you might like to see.

The flowers are dianthus,

and I especially like that they are perennials.

There are a few lilies and dahlias mixed in,

but they aren't blooming yet.

 

 

 

 

 

These beds border one side of a creek bed

which runs through

the middle of our back yard.

My sweet husband built

Granddad's Bridge

to cross into the wooded area.

Come to visit and chat a while.

 

 

Puzzle Friday

 

A puzzle for the

fun-lovers.

Come on and play with me.

My advice is to study the picture and

puzzle shape before you start.

These puzzles are fun,

and our brains can

use the workout.

My time was 1:13 seconds.

Pink Saturday Featured Blog

 

 

This week I am featuring Jeanne at Backyard Neighbor.  Most of you have known me and my blog long enough to know Jeanne is my best friend.  I hope each of you are as blessed as I am by having a best friend.  Jeanne and I met when I was eighteen years old, and that adds up to forty-two years of friendship.

 

I wanted Jeanne to be the featured blog this week so each of you could wish she and her husband, Bill, a happy anniversary.  They are celebrating forty-nine years of shared life and love.  Together they haved created a wonderful life and family, and they are an inspiration of everything marriage should be.

 

  I could tell you forty-two years worth of stories about Jeanne and Bill, but they have their own love story which they share with everyone in their lives.  I wish them everything good ...

  On this special day Beverly asked me to be featured.  I was featured a couple of years ago but since today is our 49th wedding anniversary and Beverly and I have been  dear friends for nearly 42 years,  I was especially pleased to be featured again.  Thank you my dearest friend.

 

 

 

Many of you know me because this is my 4th year to blog as of May 8th next month.  Beverly alone is the reason I am blogging today.  She took a bit of time to convince me that I would love the experience.  In my wildest dreams I did not expect to love it as much as I am.  My blogging friends are very dear to me in so many ways.  Thank you Beverly for knowing me so well.  I am announcing a 4th anniversary of blogging with a giveaway.  It will be announced May 1st.

 

 

Just a tad about me.  I am a wife, mother, grandmother who leads a "very" active life.  I love to try anything new (within reason...my reason, HA!) and all things interest me.  Sewing, gardening, decorating,  reading, bridge, finding bargains, antiquing, walking,  and cooking are among my favorite things to do.  Blogging is a given.  I love my life and I love my church,  my family and friends to the depths of my heart.  I love my husband which goes without saying.  We have spent the best years of our lives together.  Please help us celebrate 49 years of love and adventure in a marriage that is meant to be.
