This week for Pink Saturday

I am sharing our crepe myrtles.

They are at peak of

full and glorious bloom.

I grew up in south Florida,

and we didn't have crepe myrtles.

But, my grandmother in North Carolina

had one in her yard,

and I thought it was the most gorgeous thing ever.

All of those pretty and fluffy blooms.

So, when we moved to North Carolina,

I had to have crepe myrtles.

We planted these three down our driveway.

There are a variety of wonderful colors,

and while I love them all,

I had to have the same color as

my grandmother's crepe myrtle.

It is a sweet memory.
