I love the early days of Autumn.
One of my favorite things to do is take my
morning cup of coffee and sit in the sunroom.
The cool crispness in the air and the chirping
of the birds begin my day with a smile.
One morning while enjoying this ritual,
I decided to invite one of our special friends
to spend the afternoon with us.
And, I knew just what I wanted to prepare for dinner.
I served Braised Short Ribs in a Guinness Sauce,
Roasted New Carrots and Brussel Sprouts,
Whipped Garlic Potatoes
and Rolls.
That is truly a "comfort" meal.
I set a casual table in our breakfast room,
and we shared the joy of friendship
surrounded by the softness of early Autumn.
We chatted just as the birds
were chattering outside our windows.
Pretty colorful blooms reflected the Autumn glow.
Life is sweetest with family and friends.
