Unbroken

I don't know how to begin to tell you how I feel about
this story of Louis Zamperini.
I put off reading this because I knew it was the kind of read that
always bothers me, and I was so right.
But, foremost, I must tell you I am so grateful that I did.
I wasn't alive during World War II, but I did have uncles
that fought in the war,
and I know they were reluctant to even have it mentioned.
The story of Louis Zamperini will forever be in my heart.
His story and the story of all the men who fought and endured
are now part of me.
I am even more proud to be an American.
I usually read a book in a day or two,
but this one took me several months.
I was so emotionally involved that I had to put
it aside and read in small doses.
Do I recommend this read?
Absolutely!!!
