Looks delicious, doesn't it?
And, even though I say so myself, it was delicious.
I have a cherry story for you today.
My husband loves cherries.
Cherry cobblers. Cherry pies. Cherry ice cream. Cherry turnovers.
Jars of maraschino cherries. Chocolate-covered cherries.
You name it, he loves it.
Me, not so much.
You know we have been married 44+ years,
and I have made a few cherry cobblers and cherry turnovers.
Few being the optimal word. Very few to be perfectly clear.
And, I believe this cherry "thing" is genetic.
My husband's father liked them,
and our son likes them.
What is a girl to do when it is time to bake a pie?
I baked my grandson's favorite, pecan pie, for Thanksgiving.
I baked my mother's favorite, pumpkin pie, for Christmas.
And, I even baked my favorite, sour cream raisin pie, for Christmas.
So...I announced I would bake my husband's favorite pie next.
I just knew he was going to say he wanted sweet potato pie.
All these years I have been thinking his favorite pie was sweet potato.
But, no. I was wrong. He and our son both said cherry pie
was their favorite.
We just celebrated our son's thirty-ninth birthday.
(Someone please tell me how thirty-nine years have passed.)
And, I bet you can guess what I made for his birthday dessert.
You guessed it.
Cherry Pie
♥My two guys loved it.♥
I promise to bake more cherry pies.
